It's not goodbye, it's I'll see you later.

My husband passed away yesterday in ICU after six nights of hospitalization due to complications of COVID-19. He spent 5 nights in ICU alone while COVID ravished his body. I was called Sunday morning when his STATS began to crash so I could spend his last 24 hours on this earth by his bedside, holding his hand, talking to him, letting him know how much we all loved him and willing him to fight and come back to us.

This amazing, funny, loving, strong, healthy man who loved life, who walked 5-6 miles each and every day with his little buddy Kody, this man who would give you the shirt of his back if you needed it, this man who did everything to help anyone in need, This man who loved his family and friends, this man who did everything right to protect himself and his family from this horrible disease was wiped out in SEVEN days.

To all you conspiracy theorist, non-believers, the government is trying to control us, I am young and healthy and I won't get it, it is my right not to wear a mask, it is too inconvenient, it is not a real thing people. . . FUCK YOU!! You are the reason I am a widow and we all are mourning the loss of our LOVED ONE!!

Covid-19 Positive - Day Four

Woke up today with a sore throat, most likely from coughing and a burning sensation in my left nostril.  The fever has been unrelenting for the last three days we will see what today brings.  I continue to use Tylenol every six hours to try and stay ahead of it.  Anything I eat or drinks seems to run immediately through my body.

I had to walk the dog today because my husband's symptoms finally caught up with mine, he has been in the bed all day sleeping with body aches, a cough, and a fever.  I felt lightheaded and felt very nauseous each time I went out. My body is still desperately fighting this thing.

Covid-19 Positive - Day One

Wednesday, July 29th, 2020, I awoke with a headache, runny nose, and lots of ear and sinus pressure.  I took some sinus medication and got ready for work.  I arrived at work and went through the door screening and my temperature was taken (97.1) and got on with my day.  Throughout the day I started feeling some fatigue.  After work, I went home, ate some dinner, and laid in bed and watched some television.  After a couple of hours, I took a shower and turned in early thinking that some sleep would relieve some of my symptoms. I woke up several hours later with an oral temperature of 101.5 degrees, chills, and a dry cough.

At 3:58am I contacted my boss and advised her of my symptoms and was told I needed to go get tested for Covid-19.  I made an appointment at 12:30pm for myself and my husband as more symptoms started to appear.  When we arrived at the clinic for our testing we were taken to separate room and our stats were taken.  Mine were as follows:
  • Temperature:  100.0
  • Pulse:  88 BPM
  • Blood Pressure:  173/104
  • O2 Stats:  92%
Came home after my nasal swab test, took a shower, and spent the rest of the day in and out of consciousness and feeling worse, feeling as if I would pass out when I stood to go to the bathroom.  Every 6 hours the Tylenol would wear off and the fever and chills would come back.

I can't catch a break

I just got off the phone with the Vet. Jill has a soft tissue injury with pain and swelling. They are going to send her home with pain meds and anti-inflammatory medication. They are worried about her glucose levels but say it is more than likely stress hyperglycemia and is probably nothing to worry about but they are going to draw more blood to be sent out for a more detailed diagnosis. They are going to also check her kidneys and make sure that they're okay. She saw NO sign of a blood clot, stated her leg is warm and responding properly to pain stimuli. Worst case scenario Jill may be diabetic and need daily medication. On a not-so-good note, Jill bit a Vet Tech during the last x-ray, I am sorry it happened but was not surprised when they told me. Jill does not like strangers, she has been stuffed in a crate two days in a row, rode in a car, and been turned over to people she doesn't know and had her people taken away from her. She is in pain, tired, and scared.
